You Always Know What To Do In life

A couple of months ago I went through a bad patch. Psychologists would call it a breakdown, but for me, it was a harsh reality check. And it was all brought on thanks to my overworking brain.

I’m an overthinker. And I overthought about the direction my life was going.

The scary part was I felt like I didn’t know what I was doing. And that felt true for quite a while. I felt like I was stuck with no clear path in front of me. But there always was a path, I just needed to acknowledge it.

Where have you come from and where do you really want to go?

The best way forward comes with a glance in the rear-view mirror. Look at where you have come from and you’ll find the answer to where you should go. Maybe you’ve done something in the past that actually piqued your interests. Something that you’ve forgotten in the flux of everyday life. Maybe you’ve been considering something that you’ve let slip from the mind.

Or maybe you need to realise that you are already doing something worthwhile; you just need to change it up. Just like I had to.

My look in the rear-view mirror showed me that I was already an accomplished writer. How does one forget that? you ask? By overthinking yourself into oblivion.

So I had to accept that fact. I’ve still got a long way to go in regards to a career, of course, but I’ve accomplished enough to show my true potential. Once I accepted it, my next step was picking through my interests.

And guess what? Here I am, writing just like I was always intended.

Even if you don’t know what to do, you do

Of course, some of you are probably stuck in a career you’ve lost interest for, with no idea of where to go next. And regardless, you’ll still know what to do, which is finding out what you truly want to do.

This will involve a lot of soul searching. This could mean a lot of jumping around the job market. Or even picking up new hobbies after work. Or perhaps it’s something daring like flying halfway across the globe.

Get a little crazy with your decisions. Say yes to any odd and exciting opportunity that passes your way. But most of all, keep your ears and eyes peeled. Eventually, you’ll hit the money!

And that’s why you always know what to do in life. Because not knowing what to do is akin to being lifeless. And here you are, reading this article, obviously not lifeless.

So stop worrying about not knowing what to do; it’s a pure lie flying about your wayward mind. You always know what to do in life!

Even if it’s simply discovering what you want to do.
