I didn’t say I’d still wear a condom if I had sex with them for nothing. You’d be silly to think otherwise. Of course, perhaps I should have emphasised the point that proper treatment doesn’t always mean a constant undetected viral load. I figured it would have been a little redundant to emphasise. Hence why I simply said that I’d still wear a condom in either scenario. Unless you’re taking PrEP, you’d be silly to have unprotected sex with a person who is HIV+. What this means is that if you encounter a broken condom during sex, the chances of contracting HIV is lower if they are on effective treatment, compared to those who have never been tested at all.
