As much as I'm a liberalist at heart, I am also a believer in science. With Covid-19, I don't take anecdotal evidence as primary evidence. It is always secondary. I also don't get my information from news and current affairs. If I truly want to know about Covid-19, vaccines, or even new variants, I research through medical journals. They are primary sources because they are written by people who have studied infectious diseases.

I won't pressure you in getting the vaccine. That is, as you say, a personal choice. But I think it's important for your readers to know that you are not an expert. You may have experience with covid-19, but, from what I gather, you do not have a a medical degree of any sort.

The facts that I see in my home state of NSW, Australia, is that unvaccinated people make up the majority of cases in hospital. And they can range from 16-80. But, of those who are fully vaccinated and in hospital, they are people who are over 70 years of age and with pre-existing conditions. I'm yet to get my second dose, but I'm gunning for it for the sake of my community. And for the sake of hospitals. I don't want to be another burden for nursing staff. And I sure as hell do not want to be the reason someone dies.

So please, it's your responsibility as a writer to make sure your readers know the whole truth, including that you are not a medical scientist. This is purely anecdotal evidence which will never hold up in any court. It's your word against the thousands of medical scientists who are concerned and wanting people to get vaccinated.
